Make it a point that the edges will be given enough light as you instruct the electrician. Lighthings will reduce shadows and illusion which will confuse your elderly.
- Make sure that your stairs are in good condition. This is important when you're doing a repair. Make it a point that there are no nails poking outside the edges and corners of the steps. If the wood happens to be creaky and of poor condition, then you will need to install it with a new one.
- Paint the edges. For guidance and distinguishing of steps, you must paint the stairs on its edges. The color must be in contrast with the shade you have in your stairway. Steps are usually uniform and even. But if you happen to have an uneven one, make it a point that you apply a different color on it among the others. This will help you get wary that this one is different from the other steps.
- Install adhesive strips. To avoid slippery situations, you can put rubbery strips on the stair threads. This will dodge your chances from falling and slipping downstairs. To make it more better, pick out paints that have a rough texture.
